OK, seems to be a consensus here to do it from the top. I also asked my indy and he does it from the bottom, but then again he has a real lift and I don't - and my jackstands are currently supporting my Volvo 1800 while getting a suspension makeover.
Until I pull some parts out of the way, it's hard to see in there. So, there's one bolt under the starter from the engine side that's easy to see, and the other (higher) one near the solenoid is on the transmission side?
