Wow, those are beautiful wheels!
Ronal must have found a way to make the Super Aero wheels lighter when they made the '98 version with the exposed lug bolts. They're ~20 pounds.
I was surprised also about the ride quality. I thought that going from a 60 series to a 55 series tire would result in a harsher ride. But my car lost 3~4 pounds of unsprung weight at each corner, and that makes it easier for the suspension to keep the tires planted and isolate vibration from the cabin. So I'm enjoying better handling, a nicer ride and less road noise which sounds too good to be true.
Less weight also means less rotational inertia for the engine and brakes to overcome. You may have noticed slightly faster acceleration after this upgrade.
