I'm getting ready to do my water pump and really want to avoid doing it more than once, so taking whatever cautions that I can. I will have tubes of both goos - Hylomar on it's way from a seller in S. Dakota, not available at local stores.

What O-rings do you coat with the goo of choice, i.e. just to one joining the adapter to the engine block, or all or them? Do you use it instead of Vaseline?
