The 900 and 9000 had good rust protection, and if an owner was savvy with rust inhibitor it could be prolonged even longer. That being said, I have a 1994 sitting out in my field that burned no oil and still drove like a charm. The rear end just let go, and that was even with a $1000 body shop repair several years before.
