As you mentioned, there is a "handedness" to the small copper teeter-totters. I had mine apart to clean it, and had the same issue on re-assembly. Went down fine holding the switch, but lost the one-touch. If you look at them very closely, you will find one that is slightly different. It is this one that activates the one-touch. You'll have to trial and error which position on the driver's window it goes, but as you've been in there, you shouldn't have too much of a problem figuring it out. I'll try and locate my spare tonight and get a picture for you, although it's "Somewhere in the garage", which is in desperate need of a re-organization after the scramble to get things off the floor when the snow melted and flooded it.
