195/65R15 is the right size. But 225/45R17 works fine

too, even in snow. I have to use 17" wheels because of my AP brakes, so was a bit apprehensive when I first got the bigger winter tires. But I found them to work at least as well as the smaller size (comparable quality tires), even in fairly deep snow. In the wet and dry the 225s are much better.
