First, I'm assuming you already checked the three fuses (2,3 and 4) associated with the cooling fan. Even if the resistor is bad, it will only cause the fan's low speed function to not operate. The high speed function will still work and the car will not overheat. If the temp gauge is working, then the EDU is reading the temperature properly and your sensor is doing it's job. Now you need to determine if the EDU is turning the fan on OR if the relay is actually operating when it gets the signal from the EDU.
