Given the mileage on the clock, if there's nothing wrong with the way the car's running there's no sense tackling this job. It's hard work.
Just replacing the chain (by "rolling in" a replacement) will not address any wear to the chain guides, of course. And a "proper" replacement of all the guides, etc., really requires removal of the head, oil pan, and timing cover. Why? Because removing the timing cover without damaging the head gasket is a near impossibility. Ditto replacement of timing cover with head in place. There have been tales of people freezing their timing covers prior to reinstallation but even then a lot has to go your way for it to work out.
Removing the oil pan with the motor in the car can be difficult, not least because using the Loctite 518 sealant is hard to do without subsequent oil leaks (timing cover uses this sealant too). True, there are other sealants that seem to work for these applications, but the R&R work is still a bear.
Finally, with all those miles, I doubt you'd notice any difference in the car's performance or reliability. These are solid engines that can go seemingly forever with minimal degradation of performance, so a little chain rattle can be forgiven.
Just my opinion, but having done a few of these jobs I strongly recommend you concentrate on basic maintenance and steer clear of major projects of this nature.
