Understand the benefit of all aluminum consruction, but comparing any new radiator with a 20 year old one won't mean much. I've never heard of a 9k with a healthy cooling system running hot. They do get plugged up after a while especially with hard water, to the extent that this is why I replaced my original, but with the new Nissens it never runs hot even in 100+ temps. Remember, the factory cooling system is designed to run flat our for days at a time at Talladega. Not saying the Chinese aluminum units are a bad option - as mentioned I've dused them on another car - just that your water temp comparison might not mean much.
