The Achilles Heel of Manual Trans 9000s Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Fri, 21 Jul 2017 17:35:17 In Reply to: help with slave cyiinder pro parts or what?, david, Thu, 20 Jul 2017 17:52:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
To hear of a ProParts clutch slave cylinder failing in a year is not news - some have had it fail in a month. DO NOT put another one in there unless you enjoy taking the trans out. This is one of the parts where you really should get a genuine SAAB part.
Much as I like eEuroparts (just received $250 of Volvo parts today), I'm surprised that this is their only option - perhaps they are out of stock. The Saabsite says they have OEM - may want to call to verify. Also Oreo, or whatever they are called, genuine SAAB replacement parts business.
Worst case is to find a used unit and have it rebuilt with new parts - this is what my SAAB indy mechanic does.
