Yeah, it looks like that valve is in a real nasty place, a stark contrast to the C900 where it's just looking you in the face from the top of the engine when you open the hood.
What must have happened to your electrical connector is that either the spring clip is broken, or the thingamabob that it latches on to is.
You could even be looking at an electrical problem. The valve could be relatively clean inside but not being triggered. Or the mechanism inside it could be toast. I have not had to touch the AIC yet on either of my 9000s. Not a job I particularly look forward to.
