I put a China-made replacement axle in my '97 CSE about a year and a half ago and it's been fine. In my case it was not the outer joint, the entire inner tripod assembly fell into pieces when the axle was removed for a transmission swap. (This was at well over 300,000 miles.)
The replacement axle is an "Autopart International" brand but I have no doubt the same part is sold under different names. At the time these were a closeout special from Rockauto at a great price so I bought a couple of spares.
