I finished head gasket job on the 1994 Aero 5 speed . I replaced burned exhaust valve, engine starts and runs great.
I was buttoning up a few loose ends, and got some 5/32 rubber vacuum hose to replace the crumbling old lines. From the plastic ‘Y’ under the throttle body, I have a line going to Boost dump valve, and a line to intake manifold. The third line I ran through the ‘false’ firewall, through grommet with heater hoses. Found white nipple about 3 inches above heater hose connection.
Went to start engine, and upon firing up it immediately began to race engine!!!! Shut off key switch, checked connections. Thought maybe throttle plate was stuck open , or loose connection on idle control valve. All looked good, so tried again, and still goes to full race upon firing. I pull off line to white nipple and plug it, engine runs and idles normally.
Am I connecting to the wrong nipple? I see or feel nothing else in that area of firewall
