Okay guys so I replaced the ignition switch. Fairly easy job although I had to run to the parts store for a 2 millimeter allen wrench. Straight forward, took about 20 minutes. I also changed the starter. Not a terrible job. Plenty of space underneath to get ratchets in the space. I noticed the negative cable connector on the starter was completely knackered. I spliced on a new connector from a parts car and got everything mounted. Took about 30-45 minutes. Car started right up! I also noticed things like the cabin fan, interior lights and the trip computer all working properly again. I think that negative connector on the starter was faulting a lot of electrics! Thanks again for all the help! Turns out my wife didn't break my car!!!
