Im in this exact predicament today. Pretty greasy hoses (saab part 4755666) at the manifold connection end of the hoses.
Im in baltimore, and wondering about online searching for a shop to rebuild the hoses, not coming up with anything (and I work in a library you think i would know what i am doing!) what do i search for, a/c hose and hydraulic hose rebuild gets me nothing.
I see skandix and rendcarparts have them oversees, but would love to have them rebuilt.
I have a 96 aero.
furthermore, anything to watch for upon removal and re-installation? I have zero pressure charge, so dont think i need to have system evacuated. to remove, but reckon i need to vacuum it out before putting new charge in. I think i will likely have a shop do that when i get a recharge.
For what it is worth, all last summer my A/c was cold...save for a few weeks i had to battle a wonky blend door stepper motor gear. However near the end of the hot season whenever I made a sharp right hand turn I would hear a whooshing noise (which for all the world sounded like something inside the dash shifting from passenger side to drivers side). the a/c compressor would shut off for that momentary second and then back to normal.
Compressor currently engages, but cold just doesnt keep up, and i verified its not a blend door issue.
anyhow was weird. but clearly related to the leaky hoses???
