While not as necessary for the 9000 as it is for later models (no "marrying" of radios, etc.), the Tech2 is still handy for diagnostics, resetting SRS light if needed, and setting up remotes. I bought mine from chinacardiags.com and had no problems. You can specify a card loaded with the later (V148) Saab software when you order the unit. You'll also want to order an extra linear memory card to load up with the V44 software needed for the 9000.
