In case of this particular engine Wikipedia lies :) There is no air entrance.
Generally name for this system is a bit misleading - it's not pure ventilation, but rather underpressure system.
Underpressure in crankcase:
- keeps the oil pressure higher
- helps to pretension of piston rings
- transfers combustion gas leaks into intake manifold (this is the ventilation function)
- prevents oil leaks from the engine (only with the engine running of course)
This system also has oil trap to recover the oil from gas evacuated from the crankcase.
