ABS light on solid Posted by skibumm100 [Email] (#3255) [Profile/Gallery] (more from skibumm100) on Mon, 27 Sep 2021 06:39:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have an ABS warning light that is on all the time on my wife's 97 CSE. I hooked up the Tech 2 and the code is "42251-Permanent - Main Relay Circuit - Incorrect".
I swapped the relay with a known good from my 96 Aero and checked the fuses. The ABS pump does not run with the key on, engine off. I had a Bosch relay with a cover that would come off and I can make the pump run by moving the contacts manually. I have 12V at all of the (3) of the fuse supply feeds.
Resetting the ABS light with the Tech 2 does not shut off the light. It still stays on even though the Tech 2 says there are no faults. Once you start the car, the fault comes back. Is there a good troubleshooting guide for a 97 9000 somewhere? Most of the manual copies I see are for a '93 Mark IV system. Not sure if it's identical.
TIA!
