My last one was a few years ago on a 97 Aero 5-spd. I was rear ended and 100% other driver's fault. I did not have collision on mine and had to argue with Liberty Mutual over the value. The best I could get was $2700. I bought it back for $350, IIRC. The blue book is really low on them. Condition matters. Mine was pretty good. A CSE will be easier to find comps on than an Aero. Use the Saabnet classified listings as proof and try to find a comparable car. There were no 97 Aero sales records that I could find when my 97 got wrecked. I pointed them to a 96 Aero sale for a car in similar condition/mileage but they fought me and said it wasn't a 97 so it didn't count. Total BS.

My 96 Aero recently got hit (and totaled). The other driver was 100% at fault but has no insurance. So I will need to file with the court but will probably end up with zero, even if the case goes my way.

My car insurance company will sell a minimal collision policy which will cover my vehicle loss if hit by an uninsured driver if I am not at fault. I may put that on mu 02 9-5 Aero as it's in really nice, rust free condition. Too many deadbeats around today.

Sorry to hear about your CSE.
