Turns out the mechanic used a universal coolant that is okay to mix with other types. Hearing that, the issue became less urgent in my mind. There is some other issues which I am unwilling to tackle myself, like a crack in the oil cooler. So I will soon take the car to the mechanic again for a bunch of smallish repairs, and will have them do a radiator flush at that time.
I will check out that Evans coolant. Who knew there were so many types of coolants: watered/waterless, pure/pre-diluted, organic/inorganic/poly etc. :)
