Ride Height (here we go again) Posted by striictly sweedish [Email] |
I installed new Bilstein Touring struts on my 1996 CSE (automatic) yesterday. For the benefit of future generations I recommend a 6 lb sledge to take out the upper of the two lower strut bolts.
When I bought the car it had an ass-in-the-air look which I fixed with 1998 CSE (Aero spec) rear springs.
Yesterday I reinstalled the standard front CSE springs because the front and rear heights were well balanced but now the front end is about 1.25 inches higher with the new struts. Is the reason is the fact they are gas shocks?
Is there any hope this will change any time soon?
I have a pair of KYB RG1147 front springs on hand, supposedly suitable Aero replacements, which are 13mm wire as opposed to the Aero 14mm. I'm not keen on repeating this job but I want to make the car level.
Has anyone had experience with these KYB springs?
