I'm a devoted non-technical Aero owner (97 manual; 280k). Been driving 9000s since 1988.
My AC died a while back. So my mechanic injected dye and saw no signs of leaks. Then he replaced the compressor and expansion valve. The AC died in a few days.

So he figured the problem is in the core and used sealant to get to it. That seems to have helped minimally but the AC died after a week.

Is there any reason not to try more sealant? Are there particular brands that you recommend?

I'm told that, otherwise, the next step is to pull the dash and replace the core with a used leak-free one.
