Was your compressor replaced because the old one failed? If the old compressor locked up internally the condenser and drier as well as the expansion valve also need to be replaced at a minimum, and the rest of the AC system flushed out due to contamination by metal debris. (If it was just due to a problem with the compressor clutch or shaft seal this would not apply.)

Sealant can potentially cause all kinds of damage to your AC system so I would not put in any more. The way that stuff works is that it hardens at the leak point on exposure to atmospheric moisture. Guess what happens if moisture gets into the system later, either due to a massive leak or having to service the AC? The sealer can harden wherever it happens to be. About 10 years ago a friend used a sealer in his AC system and ultimately wound up having to replace every component because everything was clogged up. It can also damage AC servicing equipment.

If the guy working on that thing for you is telling you the dash needs to be pulled to replace the evaporator core he does not know the 9000 very well. (Also I'm surprised a mechanic would advise the use of sealer.) The evaporator on the 9000 is pretty easy to access inside the aquarium. No need to tear apart the dashboard like in so many other cars. I'd check it for leaks with an electronic sniffer before condemning it. (With UV dye the evaporator can be checked directly, or the leak would show up in the condensation drain.)

Another possible leak point that I experienced last summer was the o-ring seal on the high pressure pipe going into the expansion valve failing. Since all the refrigerant was lost anyway I took the opportunity to replace all the hoses and seals as well as (of course) the drier. The problem was I could not get the new o-ring from my generic o-ring kit to seal properly on that high pressure pipe, even though to the naked eye it appeared identical to the original o-ring. I was talking to a guy I know who used to work for a Saab dealer service department and he told me you have to use the correct factory seal there or you'll never get it to work. This is part #30541940, available through esaabparts.com though it has to be shipped from Sweden. (An internet search may turn up other sources as well.)

This seal is also used in the 900NG and 9-3. After installing the proper seal everything was fine!
