There are tweeters in there, but I didn't do anything with those or with the rear speakers. The 4" speakers I installed are the coaxial type, 4 ohms I think.

There's really no trick I can think of to taking the speaker covers off once the fasteners are removed. From the front of the dashboard they should just pull towards you and up. (I usually have the most trouble getting them to sit properly when reinstalling them.) The speaker covers do come out easier if you remove the A-Pillar trim first though it's not strictly necessary.

This video shows removing the speaker covers as part of removing the dash top. It's a right hand drive model but the procedure is the same:
