In theory, you want the bypassvalve as close to the throttle plate as possible.....but I doubt you would notice any difference.
Bob/Zeke....you said you have bypassvalves with two electrical connectors? That cand be bypassvalves: they've simply never had any electrical stuff in them!! Isnt that the old style BPC valves?
To find the leaks, I would:
Check and double check the bypassvalve.
Check all hoose clamps related to the bypassvalve.
Check W, C and R hooses + clamps if there are any.
Hooses + clamps to/from intercooler (as you said, not so fun....).
Visually inspect the left/right side of the intecooler for cracks.....
And then there is only one thing left....the connection to the inlet mainfold....
Check the thin hoose to/from the bypassvalve (attached to the inlet mainfold and your stock boost gauge). Check for leaks all the way to your gauges.
Hmm...thats it I guess....and Im glad you decided to remove that horrible plastic thing...:)
Thats it for now I guess....hope everything turs out ok...
/Mathias
