It only costs $8-10 to do yourself, using the correct NGKs, of course. There seems to be a body of folks on this board that think that changing plugs every 12k is good routine maintenence. Even new plugs can be bad, or poorly gapped. Considering the distance you are looking at, it seems like it could be a bargain for you. It would also rule out one variable.
