Michael is fairly correct - motors seem indestructible. From my experience with a 89 9k (3 windows have done this so far) the nylon guide that keeps the cable out of the winder breaks apart, and the cable becomes very tangled in the winding spool. I replaced two of the cables, and unkinked the third. Just keep track of the parts coming out, and it can be a couple hour project.
