got my 9KT back after clutch job, now problems

Hi, i'm the guy who on friday posted about a clutch job where the indy mechanic relaced my clutch mas. cyl. after i had told him not to due to its young age. to make a long story short, i didn't get charged for the part, and i was pretty happy to get away with a complete clutch kit, resurfaced flywheel, and all related hydraulics (slave cyl, mas. cly & fluid) for $850 cash. he returned to me the supposed defective master cylinder, but that's not why i'm posting now. i'm posting now because friday night after getting the car back, the tach needle would "bob" while the car was in gear and at about 2000 rpm. while the needle is bobbing, it almost feels like the car is momentarily surging, or momentarily dying, then coming back to life with a kick of power. also, i was unable to let the clutch out in reverse, going uphill, without the car stalling. to top it all off, the idle is off and it stalls at lights. i'm headed back to the indy shop tomorrow to drop it back off, but i thought i'd run it by everybody here because i have no clue as to what is happening, and the mechanic said he'd have to drive it before he could make an attempt at diagnosing the problem. if anybody knows or can follow what i've posted, please comment, thanks.
