Yes, I think you are right. I guess I was just making that up about drilling a hole, it's been several years since I had that conversation at the body shop.
Basically, I was just trying to say that a dent on the crease was/is more expensive to fix than one elsewhere. Not impossible, just more expensive. Bottom line is, when I was at the body shop to have an accident repair done (on another part of the car), they said that they could fix the door ding (unrelated to the accident) easily and for free had it been other than on the crease. But because it was on the crease, it would cost some. I forget how much. It was significant enough that I declined.
