It is usually a good Idea to have the car "read or inspected" every so often, 1 year to 18 months, just for a "health" check. If you have been using your dealer throughout your warranty period for routine service, oil changes, brakes and misc, he may do this as a low cost courtesy. If not then you could pay a pretty dear price for a service that is essentially useless. A thorough inspection will cost you a little and could be beneficial if you have a relationship with your dealer. Things that may be marginal but not failed will not be repaired under warranty or even reported through the diagnostic test, but at least you will know if any thing is defective. Unfortunately very little diagnostic information will be reported to you since the diagnostics is not a qualitative report but a pass/fail report. None of the wear items are covered. Your Saab tech will give you an idea where things stand and do a thorough inspection if you ask for it(about $65.00 or 1 shop hour). One thing you may consider are those small defects that may actually get increasingly worse in a short time like cracked/leaking motor mounts. My dealer found some small bubbles around the edge of my windscreen and replaced it under warranty at month 47 and they also completely tightened all suspension bolts and replaced the upper mount because of cracked rubber.
