I wouldn'd be looking into replacing that SAAB of your for a few more years. These things can last a long time with proper care. Don't get me wrong, they DO break down from time to time but then, so doeas every other car built in the world. That's a fact of life my friend, but, hardley a reason to ditch a cas that has probably pulled through for you many of times. I bougth an 88 9k Turbo back in 1998 for about 4 grand. I was aware that it wasn't the best example out there but for me they are hard to find where I live so, I took it. In the past 3 1/2 yrs it has been to the shop 3-4 times for breaking down on me. I've also spent an additional $4,000 to bring it back to life. It's not been easy but, surley worth it. Now it just needs to be painted. for the longest time my wife would curse this SAAB of mine for all the money it's cost me and problems I've had. I simply smile..Why? because it's paid for and that's great but, the insurance is only $10 buck per month. That's right $10 bucks!
