... in the UK, our annual inspection (the "MOT test") records the mileage of the vehicle. Do your inspections keep track of this sort of thing and is the information available?
Having said that, the car may simply have had a hard life. If poorly maintained, it is conceivable that these things could go wrong at 80K miles. Check the condition of the seats - they are pretty robust and even if dirty or damaged, should at least not look very worn at 80K. The floor mats are also a good indicator if they're still in the car, as are the pedal rubbers. I'm assuming you don't have a service history for it, otherwise you'd know whether the mileage was accurate. Again, in the UK, I can go to any Saab dealer and they will look up the Saab dealer service history for any car, given the registration (licence) number or VIN. This only works if it has been dealer serviced, but even if its last dealer service was at 60,000 miles in 1995, then you probably have reason to be suspicious.
