Car's in the shop getting dings out, it's a 93 CSE... He says the numbers are all messed up and that for mileage (80,000) too many things have gone wrong (head gasket blew, turbo might leak, boost sucks, heater core leaks, motor mounts are gone). I ran a carfax on the thing and it all checks out ($5000 guarantee-- woohoo!). PLEASE tell me the ECU keeps track of mileage somewhere. If not, what are some tell tale signs? What should I be looking for? Should I try and contact previous owners? What should I say to them? Are they suspect? Will SAAB be able to tell me anything beyond what CARFAX has?

Thanks so much... this seems rather nightmarish, so please bear with me.
