Timing Chain Question Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Tue, 19 Jan 2010 11:08:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have spent the last year or so buying hard to find b-engine parts (water pump, timing chain guides, etc), and I have 2 different timing chains in my stash that came with guides and sprockets. I got these chains from different sources on the internet and I want to be sure that the chain I put in is good for the long haul.
Is there a way to tell if a chain has been used? What should I be looking for to verify that the chain is not too worn? Or even used at all?
Or should I just forget these chains and buy a new chain from somewhere? Are new chains even available anywhere?
THANKS!
