Johnson, sure B motor is just fine to usem the 55 amp alt staye in the same place as llong as the 4 speed is up to 1979 with sand case. So just above the RH axel cul there are still threaded biosses for the horizontal alt lower RS engine bracket. Add to this the 75 and later triangle shaped vertical RS engibe support. the EFI distributod fron a 73-74 99 is needed to trigger the EFI points, the 73-74 distributor gear will be coarse 8 cog tooth gear. If you have access to alte 76 B motor with fine tooth 12 cog, you can change the dist gear by dribibg out the roll pin and swapping to fine toothe dist gear. Be for warned if you have to drill out the dist gear for larger roll pin, this metal is super hardened and may ruin several bits till deed is done. To not change radiators, used a 79 or 1980 water pump cover that angles down to use tyhe lower radiator hose. on the water pump cover the little spout is the retirn for the heater, and a 94-998 sec gen 900 head spout to heater hose works well.
If 73-75 B motor head is on the 10 mm exhaust bolts will require reuse of the 73-75 manifold. and the mate it farther back to the angle main muffler used that year or just fit a 75-1980 "T" style exhaust complete.
If you use a 75 4 speed MTrans, the clutch line wil repain the same. Usine 76 - 80 4 well require getting a used 76-80 clutch line and just used/graft the 10 inches that offer up to the 76-80 internal slave.
The axels will be too long as the 73 and later MT got a larger diff case. fit or change the shafts to the 75 and later style later ones.( shaft only).
Fit tye 73-74 EFI fuel computer. maybe the vacuum pressuer sensor.
Later for me tonight. may have more in AM.
A 5 speed is not much harded at all so consifer that to as you will get a shifter sassembly from a MT car.
So ATE mastercyk
