I did replace the o-ring in the fuel pressure regulator. I got a small kit off ebay from Germany. I also have a Porsche part number for the o-ring but I haven't confirmed if it is correct.

Interesting find on Bosch 0438170040. I remember the larger accumulator Bosch 0438170014 on the 99 turbo. That accumulator now supersedes to Bosch 0438170007. My car called for Bosch 0438170001 and that's what I installed a few years ago. Both the 007 and 001 are the small size and Bosch-classic says they are both 1.2 bar. It's odd that the 014 exchanges to the 007 which is smaller. I don't see the pressure listed for Bosch 0438170014.

The Bosch 0438170040 looks like the same large size as the 014 and it is 1.8 bar. That extra pressure and volume might help my case.
