No need to weld a tab on the 99 part, the correct part is available from your SAAB dealer. Bob D bought one a while back.
It depends on what you want to do with the car whether there's an advantage to the 5-speed over the 4-speed. I saw a 4-speed car and a 5-speed car running at Lime Rock one time, and the 4-speed was consistently faster than the 5-speed. It may have been different on another track. Maybe it had to do with Don Knowles and another younger driver teamed up in the 4-speed car, and and a couple geezers named Eric Carlsson and Gaston Andre in the 5-speed car.
