I am in th process of finishing my 16v 99t and like Gregg C's said I have no problems with hood clearence and there was no need to notch the front mount so the engine sits lower, it clears the hood w/ no problems. As far as the firewall goes you can make an adjustment with a plasma torch or a slege hammer either way gets the job done and its not like you can see the firewall anyway... so i used the slege, when I go back to make everything perfect I think I will cut it out and weld in a deeper section but thats for another time.
Heres the setup
Engine:
-B202 w/ 2.3l cylinder head from 93 9000aero
-B202 intake manifold--anyone have a 2.1 I could buy??
-Injectors from Aero motor, not sure of flow
-Port matched intake/exhaust as well as some polishing, took me about 12 hours with a die grinder to get everything perfect, that noise really gets to you but its well worth it.
- bored to .050 over and everything rotating has been balanced
-SD kevlar clutch disk and SD (which is sachs) pressureplate
-t3/t4 hybrid I it has a te04 or to4e comp. wheel with stock comp housing machined out to fit the wheel
- I have a Haltech for engine management which I am in the process of connecting
- the suspension is all out of a 89' 900, spindles/axles rear brakes, the fronts are from a 9000, b+g springs and revalves bilstiens all around.
-Some nice refinished aero wheels are also awaiting installation.
I got some corbeau seats 4-pt harnesses and a really cool original saab sport & rally steering wheel
And last but not least... a body with a shitty paint job, but no one will notice when I am flying by.
Theres some info, good luck and if you decide to do it just remember thats its a lot more work then it seems plan accordingly
thats my advice,
Cutic
