Hi Bob,
Still planning on using the 88 hubs. Project for next spring. I have purchased a set of 12 lb. wheels for the track and I am looking for a set of mini-light style Ronal wheels that will fit the 88 hubs for the street.
Front engine mount is standered. ScanWest uses a trimmed hockey puck for their conversion. My passenger side engine mount/brace is a 99/900 welded together. It is 6 1/2 inches in height. No problem with hood clearance.
Just ordered a T3/T4 hybred from turbo engineering in CO yesterday. With the 2.1 and big downpipe, my T3 is useless after 4,000 rpm or so. Once the turbo is on the car I hope to just drive it this winter without any major projects. Oh yeah, I have a piece of aluminum traced out that I want to make a skid plate out of.
For next summer before I run in on the track I want to:
Install the rear axle with a negative camber of 1 degree on each wheel
Swap in the front hub assembly
Better springs
Paint and mount the air flow kit
Then it will be no more driving in the winter!!
Gregg
