An EMS cam for a 99 won't work in your H engine becuase it dosen't have the extension and grooves necessary to drive the distributor.
There has been some discussion as to whether the '73 EMS cams were different from the regular '73 D-jet cams. I've heard from a number of sources that they are... (but they won't work in your engine anyway).
When SAAB introduced the APC system mid year in '82 they changed the cam to a non-turbo cam. All cars after that used the same cams, turbo or non. I've been toying with using a non-turbo cam in my turbo B motor, I know some people who have done it. It will provide more high end power and less low end power. The turbo cams for non-apc cars were cut for more low end torque to help make up for the low compression pistons. I'd say if you're rebuilding your engine, go with high compression pistons out of an APC engine and use a non-turbo cam (or get one from MSS). Just make sure to hook up an APC system to help protect the engine.
