There are two tapered pins holding the gear linkage together, and both should have a 8mm(?) nut on the bottom of the pin. Normally the front one(closest the trans) is the preferable one to remove, but if it doean't want to come out, try removing the one closer to the firewall. The pins come out by tapping the bottom, so they come out the top. My weapon of choice is usually a brass drift about 8 inches long and hammer. If they are extremely tight, normally the bottom portion of the pin will mushroom, then you're screwed, as it will never fit through the hole. Drilling it out might be the only way, but I have never had one stuck so bad that I had to drill. Maybe I'm just livin' right!
To remove the driveshafts> disconnect the inner boot clamp, two upper, and two lower balljoint bolts> pull assembly out so it clears the inner driver cups. I usually wedge a board to keep it away from the tranny while I pull the engine.
