Sven's questions apply if you mean the cooler fan that is either behind or in front of the radiator(the latter in case of Turbo). If you mean the fan that blows air into the cabin Turbo or non-Turbo is not an issue. I can't recall that these fans were very much changed (my experience goes back to ± 1977) but maybe the early years had a different model. The cabin blower fan is a bitch to get out. I had a parts car where I wanted to take it out of and if I remember well I stopped; during disassembly I broke the resistor that is outside the motor and it was very difficult to reach the fan itself. Only after removal of the thermostat crane housing you can undo things so you can get bits out. It's quite often that the bearings start to squeal over the years (I believe that no ball bearings are used).
