If there was a tranny in the trunk, then you would probably bank on a dead, or nearly dead tranny. I take it you are going for a nice driver, not your usual resto?
I know there are plenty of people who would love that a/c junk... sell that, and recoup some of your gas expense. As to that hatch, you are going to have a bugger of a time finding a good 99 hatch with no rust. Unless you have one stashed in your barn somewhere... They all get pretty ugly under the lower half of the window seal. You *could* use a 900 hatch, but those awful lights really ruin the back end of a 99t. Keep us posted on what you find!
