I think that a quality restor job can be done using some bondo in some cases. Bondo seems to be best used in small sharp dents that can not be worked out ie a deep scratch. In dents that can be worked out they should be. In large dents in fenders and doors they should ideally be replaced if possible. Many people use bondo way too much though and try to cover up problems which is why I think it has been looked down on for doing restor jobs. I try to not use bondo if possible but I have used it in some cases and its worked out fine for me.
