I have parked my 1970 99 B motor , 5-speed, and single carb,after 25 years and 418K miles. My new dailey driver is an stock 80 99 with a 5-speed just added. I intend to get 25 years more from this car too. Rust had eventually spread to the sill boxes as the jacking points have given way. This car was always at the ready, never towed anywhere, had Saab running gear not stanpart-Triumph. I willl miss the early 99 dash and the 6 piece throttle linkage, and the low turn signal lenses in the front, which allowed the beauty of the front fender to be as obvious as the the rest of the 2 door car. Salvage will come later on this summer. A Second Place showing in the Hershey autocross , running in the modified class against a 900 Turbo, was probably her finest moment. Viva the heroes of the past, long live SAAB.
