Just thinking: I know the 9000 engine is in transversal, but as the head and engine are the same, it may be possible to take the oil pan off and install the engine on the 99 trans. Might require a different flywheel/clutch. I'm not too sure about how much space the serpentine belt and pulleys take. A lot of work, but maybe it can be done. The manifolds can be swapped. I'm sure I forgot things. Any one know more?
