I'm glad you didn't drag home a basket case like I did, but mine's been coming along slow and steady. Bide your time, and get the word out as much as possible about your interest in an interior. I missed out on an ebay auction for one, and was a bit bummed, but six months later another offer presented itself, and I jumped on it. Waiting saved me a few hundred dollars and I got a nicer set of seats to boot....or you can go the Tim Boucher route and have a new interior restitched for ~$2000-2500.
Linnea is right about saving more of them, but not everyone has the ability or finances to make that happen. It's easier for them to have a rusted heap, and part it out on ebay to make a few bucks out of it. I guess that's good for people like us who are restoring them.
If I had to count, I know I have more than 1000 hours in mine already, and I'm still taking stuff apart!
