wow. No disrespect but to say it is a shame to let a 99 sit and rot because they are disappearing when your alternative is to gut the car, cut it up, and replace a hefty portion of the car with a different car's parts doesn't seem like a better alternative at all. I'm saying this and feel guilty for having any of the modification I've done to my 99 visible. Why not just find a running 900. They are cheap, often need new dashes and seats and are still fairly plentiful. If the body on the 99 is straight and solid, there are plenty of Saabites looking for just such a thing. Your other option might also be to FIX the problems with your 99...There will not be room for all the vent bits from the 900 it would seem.
You know, of course you can do whatever you'd like. They are your cars. But the more I think about just what you'd have to do to just make the dash fit...wow. You would be cutting A LOT out to get all the parts in there from the 900. If you have to do it, you'd surely be the only one.
