Bob, I don't think I've ever heard of the fuel lines breaking on their own, no matter how old. It something had been rubbing on the line or someone had inadvertently "shaved" one, then I could see it happening, but I really wouldn't sweat it in your present car. There is fuel line grade hose available that might be a temporary fix but I really doubt they are designed for the high pressures of a CIS system. Getting lines from a 900 might be a better route, I suppose. The routing was very similar and the cars were somewhat longer...but again, don't really see a problem with the lines.
Older cars used lines similar to metal brake lines that I suppose would work but really they weren't used in high pressure systems. They may be used in HP systems, I'm just saying that the older saabs that had them were pressured by gravity alone.
Good luck.
Dan
