Is it possible to have AC with the 16v conversion? Posted by Ed_F [Email] (#1000) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ed_F) on Fri, 28 Mar 2008 20:43:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all, I decided I want to do the 16VT conversion on my 3dr 78GL. With a few 16vt motors laying around along with a parts car and numerous 900 parts, I figured why not.
Anyway, my 99 has a dealer installed AC system. Now is it possible to make enough firewall space to accommodate the thicker pulley? Also, will the compressor clear the hood? I would like to use the 900 Seiko compressor and have the hoses custom made to use the existing 99 AC pieces. I have yet to see it done, plus summers in south Texas are like being in the fiery pits of hell.
Another question I have is that I acquired a destroyed 86 900S and want to harvest the complete harness/ fuse panal from it for the project. Do I need a complete turbo harness or is there a junction the non turbo harness to run the wiring for the APC system?
I already did a search on the subject and pretty much all conversion links are too old. Anyone have a current link to a step by step on the project?
